Overhead

Overhead turns a block of your Stream Deck into a live radar scope showing the aircraft actually in the sky—right now, over any airport in the world or right above you.

It isn't a picture of a radar. It is one continuous scope stretched across the keys you give it, with the bezels acting as part of the instrument: rings, bearing marks, coastlines, borders, cities, airfields, and an active sweep passing over the lot.

Key Features

• Point It Anywhere: Type an airport code or city name to move the scope (3,270 airfields built-in). Press one button to center on your position via your network address, or enter exact coordinates.
• Follow Mode: Pressing the details block button anchors the scope to a specific aircraft. The map slides underneath as it flies, saving bandwidth by tracking just that single target.
• Sized for Hardware: Custom typography and aircraft icons drawn specifically for small key displays. Turning up text size intelligently labels fewer aircraft to avoid overlapping callsigns.
• Distinct Icons: Every aircraft type is rendered uniquely at low pixel counts—swept chevrons for airliners, straight-winged crosses for light aircraft, long spans for gliders, and spinning rotor discs for helicopters.
• Smooth Movement Between Polls: Polling alternates every eight seconds between two feeds. Overhead interpolates position, track, speed, and climb rate at 12 FPS between updates to keep the display fluid without snapping or blinking during missed polls.
• Conflict Alerts: Rings targets in red if two aircraft above 5,000 ft are predicted to come within 5 miles and 1,000 feet of each other within 90 seconds.
• Unattended Mode: Automatically cycles through nearby aircraft, looks up their destinations, and displays them—ideal for a secondary Stream Deck.
• Dynamic Range: Steps from 10 to 150 miles. The altitude filter automatically opens up as you zoom in to switch between en-route flow and circuit traffic.

Data & Privacy

• Data Sources: Live positions sourced from adsb.fi and adsb.lol. Live routes queried via adsbdb (never written to disk). Coastlines and airfields sourced from Natural Earth and OurAirports (public domain, fully baked-in for offline rendering).
• Privacy First: No accounts, sign-ins, or analytics. The only outgoing network traffic is the request for the specific patch of sky you choose to view.
